Install Hippo Video app from SalesLoft marketplace and send video emails

Using Hippo Video App, you can allow users to create and send impactful and interactive videos with just a few clicks. Always, you can track the videos shared with your prospects.

To install Hippo Video App from SalesLoft Marketplace:

  1. Go to SalesLoft Marketplace.

  1. Search for the Hippo Video app and click on the Hippo Video card.

  1. Click on the View and Install button.

  1. During installation, you will be automatically signed up to the Hippo platform. If you already have a Hippo Video account, then you can sign in with your credentials.

  2. Once installed, you’ll be prompted with the message as ‘Hippo Video is now connected’. 

  3. Close the current window and then navigate to SalesLoft and refresh the page. You’ll find the Hippo Video app below the Enabled Integrations.

  1. Now, the app will appear in the email editor, email templates, snippets, and cadences.

Note: By default, only the admin will be able to install the App. All the users in the org will automatically be signed up in Hippo after installation. In case if a user wants to install the App from SalesLoft, he/she must get access rights from Admin.  To learn more about the complete list of available permissions, click here.  

To send video emails from the People tab:

  1. Log-in to SalesLoft using your credentials.

  2. Click People from the quick navigation bar on the left and then navigate to the respective contact.

  1. Check the box near the respective contact and then click Email from the top.

  1. In the compose mailbox, click the down arrow next to the Integrations icon. You’ll be able to find the Hippo Video add-in on the pop-up that appears.

  1. Click on Hippo Video. A pop-up window will appear where you will have the option to record a new video or choose one from the Hippo Video library.

  1. Click Start Recording to record a new message.

  2. Once you’re done, click Finish Recording.

  1. Click the Edit button and use the Scissor icon to trim out any awkward pauses at the beginning or end of the video; crop, add emojis or callouts, blur out parts of the screen or resize your video by clicking on the appropriate icons; click on the T icon to add text.   1. Once you have completed editing, your video is ready to be shared.

  2. If you wish to send out your video via a sales page, click the Sales Page tab on the top right corner to select a sales page template to embed. Click here, to learn how to create a sales page.

  1. Click on the Thumbnail tab on the top right corner to choose a thumbnail for the video.
    Note: It is recommended to choose an animated GIF thumbnail over a static one.

  1. Once you’re done, click on Insert Video.

  2. You’ll see the video gets pasted as a thumbnail inside the compose mailbox.

  1. Enter the subject and message.

  2. Click Send. You have successfully sent a video email to your prospect from SalesLoft.


To send video emails from the Cadences tab:

  1. Click Cadences from the quick navigation bar on the left and then click on Create Cadence at the top right.

  1. The Cadence Settings page will appear.

  2. Enter the cadence name, function, priority, etc. 

  1. Scroll down to set cadence type.

  1. Again, scroll down to select the stages. Once you’re done, click on Save Cadence at the bottom left.

  1. The Cadence will be saved.

  2. You can choose either Start from Scratch, or Start with Framework options to create a cadence. Here we’ve chosen ‘Start from Scratch’.

  1. Select your preferred option from the pop-up. Here we’ve selected ‘Email’.

  1. Then, enter the Day you would like the step to run and click Next: Step Content at the bottom right.

  1. In the compose window, you’ll find the Hippo Video app below Integrations

  1. Click on Hippo Video. A pop-up window will appear where you’ll find the options to record a new video or choose one from the Hippo Video library.

  2. Once you’re done with your recording and editing a video, select the sales page and thumbnail, click on Add Step.
    Note: For recording steps, please refer below “To send emails from People tab” heading.


To send video emails from the Templates tab:

  1. Click Templates from the quick navigation bar on the left and then click on Create Template at the top right.

  1. You can either select a Personal or Team template from the pop-up and click Next

  1. In the compose window, you’ll find the Hippo Video app below Integrations.

  1. Click on Hippo Video. A pop-up window will appear where you’ll find the options to record a new video or choose from the Hippo Video library.

  2. Once you are done recording, editing a video, select the sales page, thumbnail, and click Save.
    Note: For recording steps, please refer below “To send emails from People tab” heading.


To send video emails from the Snippets tab:

  1. Click Snippets from the quick navigation bar on the left and then click on Create Snippet at the top right.

  1. You can either select Personal or Team snippet from the pop-up. 

  1. In the compose window, you’ll find the Hippo Video app below Integrations.

  1. Click on Hippo Video. A pop-up window will appear where you will see the options to record a new video or choose one from the Hippo Video library.

  2. Once you’ve done with recording, editing, selecting sales page and thumbnail for the video,  click Save.

To track the shared videos for each prospect:

  1. Click People from the quick navigation bar on the left and then click on any contact.

  1. You’ll see a Hippo Video Reports widget on the right side of the screen.

Note: You can also customize the Reports widget order by clicking on Edit Layout at the top right.
