Send video messages from LinkedIn Inbox


  • Hippo Video Account. Sign-up here if you are a new user. 

  • Hippo Video Chrome extension. Click on this link to install.

  • LinkedIn Account.

To send video emails from the LinkedIn inbox:

  1. Log-in to LinkedIn using your credentials.

  2. Click on Messaging from the top navigation bar and then click Contact from the left side of the screen.

  3. You’ll notice the Hippo Video icon at the bottom of your LinkedIn inbox.

  1. Click on the Hippo Video icon. Select the option from the pop-up.

  2. Before recording, if you have any lengthy scripts then enable the teleprompter. The Enable Teleprompter feature within Hippo Video will prompt your scripts on the screen and lets you talk without the need to check your notes. To learn how to enable it, click here.

  3. You can create a new video or import a video from the Hippo Video library or record your screen and share it.

  4. If you wish to add a virtual background, click the Virtual Background icon below the video preview and select the preferred one. To learn more about the virtual background, click here.

  5. To edit or personalize your video, click the Edit & Personalize button below the video preview and select Quick Edit or Personalize Video.

  6. If you wish to send out your video via a sales page, click the Sales Page tab on the right side of the video preview and select from the existing template or create a new to embed.

  7. Click on the Thumbnail tab in the top right corner to choose a thumbnail for the video.

  8. Once you have completed it, click on Insert Video.

  9. Fill in the details and then click on Insert Video to finish up.

  10. You will notice the video gets pasted as a link inside the message box.

  11. Click on Send. The recipient would receive a video thumbnail along with the link.

To view reports inside Hippo Video:

  1. Log-in to Hippo Video using your credentials.

  2. Click on the Library icon from the left nav bar and select Videos and Documents.

  3. Now, select the specific video.

  1. Below the video preview, click on the Reports tab (opened by default). You'll find the various metrics such as total plays, unique viewers, avg watch rate, fully watched, actions, and popular region.

  2. To view the detailed reports, click on the View Detailed Reports button.

  1. You can also download reports to your local drive by clicking on the Download Report link at the top right (.csv & .xls formats).
