Are you curious to track every video you embed on your website? With Hippo Video in hand, you can gain key insights into how your videos are performing. You don’t have to juggle between sites to access the analytics. Find everything within Google Analytics itself.
Requirements:
Hippo Video Account. Sign-up here if you are a new user.

To connect Google Analytics with Hippo Video:
Follow these simple steps, and you will have Google Analytics set up with Hippo Video in no time.
Log in to Hippo Video with your existing credentials.
Click on the Media icon from the left navigation bar > All Media and open the video you wish to track via Google Analytics.
Below the video preview, click the Track Video tab and select Google Analytics from the left panel.
If you have any issues finding your Tracking ID, please follow the steps below,
Open Google Analytics in a new tab and then click on Admin from the left panel.
Then, select Property Settings > Tracking Info from the Property column.
Click Tracking Code.
Copy the code and navigate to the Hippo Video tab.
Paste the Tracking ID, and add events relevant to your video category (e.g., marketing, sales, PR, etc.) Adding events allows you to track your videos based on the category type.
Then, set the time from where you would want to track your video and hit Save.
You will be prompted with the message as Tracker details are updated successfully.
To add the GA tracking code to your sales page templates, please follow these steps:Log in to Hippo Video using your existing credentials.
- Click on the HV Studio icon located in the left navigation bar.
- Choose the Sales Page Template option and open the preview of the sales page template you want to track via Google Analytics.
Within the template preview, select the "Integrate" tab.
Choose the option for Google Analytics tracking.
Enter the GA Tracking Id and specify the events that will help identify the sales page within Google Analytics.
Once you have added the necessary information, click on the "Save" button.
- By following these steps, you will successfully add the GA tracking code to your sales page templates in order to track them using Google Analytics.
Note: Select this sales page template for your video on the preview page and share/send it to your prospects. If your prospects open the link, the events of your sales page template will be tracked in Google Analytics. Additionally, if they play the video, the video events will also be tracked in Google Analytics.
