Set circular webcam

With Hippo Video, you can now record with a webcam which can be a great way to connect with your prospects.  

 

Requirements:


How does your webcam works? 

The webcam will appear in the center of your screen when you activate it. We use this flow primarily to introduce ourselves, pitch our product, and announce our latest features. If you want to record the screen, you simply click anywhere on the screen to move it to the desired spot.


Why do we use webcams in our videos?

A video that includes your face lets prospects identify with you and see how you communicate your message. You can interact with them individually or pitch them a product.


To set a circle webcam inside the product:

  1. Login to Hippo Video using credentials.

  2. On the top right, click +Create button and then click on Screen + Camera option from the pop-up.


  1. Click the Show Advanced Options at the bottom.

  1. Choose your preferred settings, such as webcam position, shape as a circle, size, etc.

  2. You can enable the ‘Enable Lower Third’ box if you want your name shown on your webcam, as shown in the below example.

  1. During recording, if you want the webcam to appear in the center, enable the 'Start recording with webcam in center' box as shown in the below example, otherwise, it will appear based on the default position.

  1. Once you’ve done, quit the dialog box.

  1. Then, click on Start Recording.

  2. Select the type of screencasting you wish to record: Entire Screen/Window and proceed with the recording.

Note: If you are accessing the webcam for the first time then you’ll be given a Webcam tour to help you select the best webcam position.
  1. Screen recording will start after the countdown.

  2. The webcam will appear based on your preferred settings. Here, for example, the 'Start recording with webcam in center' box is enabled, and the webcam appears in the centre.

  1. To move the webcam to the selected position (left top/right top/left bottom/right bottom), click anywhere on the screen the webcam will be moved accordingly.

  1. Select from a wide range of mark-up tools at the bottom right corner to pause and play your video or toggle your webcam.

  1. Click on the  Webcam icon, to toggle between the webcam visibility. 


To set circular webcam using chrome extension: 

  1. Click on the Hippo Video icon on top (browser).

  2. Next, click on Advanced Settings at the bottom of the pop-up window.

  1. Under the Webcam Settings label, select the ‘Webcam shape’ as Circle.

  1. You can enable the ‘Enable Lower Third’ box if you want your name shown on your webcam.

  2. During recording, if you want the webcam to appear in the center, enable the 'Start recording with webcam in center' box, otherwise, it will appear based on the default position.

  3. Once you’ve selected, click (top of the pop-up window) and then click on Record

  4. Select the type of screencasting you wish to record: Entire Screen/Window and proceed with the recording.

  5. Screen recording will start after the countdown.

  6. The webcam will appear based on your preferred settings.

  7. If your webcam appears in the centre then to move the webcam, double-click on the webcam or click anywhere on the screen the webcam will be moved to the left top/right top/left bottom/right bottom corners of your screen.

  8. Select from a wide range of mark-up tools at the bottom right corner to pause and play your video or toggle your webcam.

  9. Click on the  Webcam icon, to toggle between the webcam visibility.
