Hippo Video allows you to insert user data on your video thumbnail image. You can then insert the videos in your MailChimp email campaigns along with your personalized thumbnails. Personalizing your thumbnail helps you display a unique image for each email recipient to increase click-through rates.
To personalize your video for Mailchimp email campaigns:
Log-in to Hippo Video with your existing credentials.
Click on the Assets icon from the left navigation bar > All Assets and open the video you wish to add in your email campaign.
Below the video preview, click on the Video Thumbnailicon.
In the Thumbnail slider, upload a new frame or select a frame from your video and set it as the thumbnail image.
Click on the Upload Frame and select the image from your local drive or library images.
Once selected, click the Import button.
Once the image is uploaded, you’ll be able to see Personalize button. Click the Personalize button.
Click on Add Personalized Text/Add Placeholder Image, to add text/image.
Enter the text or add merge fields to your thumbnail image. You’ll also find an option below the thumbnail to format the text such as font, style, size, alignment, etc.
Once you’re done personalizing your thumbnail image, click Save.

To copy your video embed code:
On the right side of the video preview, click on the Share/Embed Code icon.
Select Mailchimp from the Email Marketing Software.
Below the Thumbnail Size, check the Responsive and Center Align boxes.
Fill in the details for the added merge fields such as Title and Logo (mandatory).
Then, below Email Merge Tag, click on Copy Code.
Now log in to your MailChimp account and then click on the Campaigns > All Campaigns > Create Campaign from the left panel.
Click the Design Email button.
Click on the Edit name, to rename the email template. Then add the list that you’ve created to the To field. Fill in the From details, and add a subject.
To attach a video in your email campaign, click on the Design Email near the Content tab.
Then, select the template.
Then, drag the ‘Code’ block available on the right side of your screen and drop it in the template.
Paste the copied embed code in your email HTML editor to generate a video thumbnail.
To see how your video email appears, you can Preview, and then click Save and Close after making the changes.
Click on Continue, to exit.
Finally, click on Send at the top right corner of the screen.
Your email campaign sent successfully to the selected contacts.
