Hippo Video recording: How to avoid audio/video lag

We've got a few simple ways to reduce audio/visual delays.

The reason for audio and video being out of sync can be caused by a number of factors such as high CPU, memory, and bandwidth consumption. Below are a few tips that will help reduce all these issues.

For Web Browser:

  • Make sure your device is restarted.

  • Keep the background apps and tabs closed.

  • Recording the current tab or particular tab reduces the processing load.

  • Having too little RAM on your computer can slow down Hippo Video’s transcoding.

  • When the battery is low, connect it to a power source in order to check the level of the battery.

  • If the issue persists, use the desktop app instead.

For Desktop App:

  • Make sure your device is restarted.

  • Keep the background apps and tabs closed.

  • Having too little RAM on your computer can slow down Hippo Video’s transcoding.

  • When the battery is low, connect it to a power source in order to check the level of the battery.

  • Make your recording 720p or 1080p.

  • Find and close unnecessary programs that may be running in the background or that use a lot of CPU (MacOS) or Task Manager (Windows).

    • On MacOS: go to Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor

    • On WindowsCTRL + Alt + delete > Task Manager
