Importance of Merge Fields inside Sales Page

Are you creating multiple sales pages for each rep? If yes, then forget about it. With HV, you can create one sales page for your entire team and all your team members i.e. reps can choose that page as a template while sending videos. It automatically extracts information based on the merge fields added on the sales page.

Let’s see how to set the merge field information.

Setting a Merge Fields for the Sales page:

  1. Log-in to  Hippo Video with your existing credentials.

  2. Navigate to profile settings and click on More from the left navbar and then click on Settings > Profile Settings or Initial icon (left bottom).  

  1. Enter information such as Facebook ProfileCalendar LinkTwitter, and Linkedin.
    Note: You will notice that all the above-marked (merge) fields replace on the sales page. In case if the fields are empty, then the sales page will be sent with the admin created details by default.

  1. Once you’re done, click on Save at the top right corner.

Let’s see how to add the merge field to your sales page for various features.

  1. Click on the Sales icon from the left navbar and then click on Sales Pages.

  2. Now, click on the Create New at the top right corner.

  3. By default, the Sales category templates will be listed.

  1. Hover the mouse over the Sales Page template and then click on Create Page.

  2. Now, click on the Add Primary Video to add a video to your sales page.

  3. Your video now gets pasted as a thumbnail in the Sales Page.

To insert merge fields for social media:

  1. Click on the social media icons, i.e., Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin, and insert merge fields. Here, e.g., the Facebook icon is selected.

  2. You will notice the Link Type drop-down enabled with the two options:

    1. Use personal link - If you select this option, the field values will be replaced based on your profile settings accordingly.

    2. Enter new link - You can also enter the URL, e.g., your company Facebook link.

Insert Merge fields combo-box

The Insert Merge Field combo box has three tabs:

  • Contacts - Select this to personalize your recipient’s details.

  • Users - Select this to personalize your account user’s details, i.e., sales reps details (it fetches details from the Profile Settings). 

  • Videos - Select this to replace your primary video’s title and description (provided during the video creation), i.e. personalize the details of your videos.

To insert merge fields for user details:

  1. Click on the top right-hand corner and you will see an Insert Merge Field combo-box at the top right corner.

  2. Now, click on Users:

    1. ${User.First Name} - Replaces the user name.

    2. ${User.Email} - Replaces the user email.

To insert merge fields for title and description:

  1. Click on the title, and you will see an Insert Merge Field combo-box at the top right corner. 

  2. Now, click on Videos:

    1. ${Video.Title} - Replaces the primary video title.

    2. ${Video.Description} - Replaces the primary video description .

To insert merge fields for buttons:

  1. Click on Add Button, and you will notice the button features at the top of the screen.

  1. Link - Select the Button Type as Link and click on Green tick, you will notice the merge field option at the top.

  1. Enter the button name in the Button Text field.

  2. You also have an option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate radio buttons.

  3. Enter the URL in the Button URL field.

  1. Chat - Select the Button Type as Chat and click on Green tick, you will notice the merge field option at the top.

  1. Enter the button name in the Button Text field.

  2. You also have an option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate radio buttons.

  3. From the Chat drop-down list:

    1. Drift - Select to chat via drift.

    2. Freshchat - Select the chat via freshchat.

    3. Intercom - Select the chat via intercom.

    Note: Select the chat and set configuration, accordingly.

  1. Email - Select the Button Type as Email and click on Green tick, you will notice the merge field option at the top.

  1. Enter the button name in the Button Text field.

  2. You also have an option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate radio buttons.

  3. From the Email Id drop-down list:

    1. Customize - Select to enter the email id.

    2. Personal email - Select to replace the entered field values based on your profile settings accordingly.

  1. Call - Select the Button Type as Call and click on Green tick, you will notice the merge field option at the top.

  1. Enter the button name in the Button Text field.

  2. You also have an option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate radio buttons.

  3. From the Call drop-down list:

    1. Customize - Select to enter the phone number.

    2. Personal number - Select to replace the entered field values based on your profile settings accordingly.

  1. Schedule a Meeting - Select the Button Type as Schedule a Meeting and click on Green tick, you will notice the merge field option at the top.

  1. Enter the button name in the Button Text field.

  2. You also have an option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate radio buttons.

  3. From the Scheduling App drop-down list:

    1. Calendly - Select to enter the calendly link.

    2. Hubspot - Select to enter the hubspot link.

    3. Personal Link - Select to replace the entered field values based on your profile settings accordingly.

  1. Form - Select the Button Type as Form and click on Green tick, you will notice the merge field option at the top.

  1. Enter the button name in the Button Text field.

  2. You also have an option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate radio buttons.

  3. From the Form used drop-down list:

    1. Default > click Form Configuration - Select and update the details, to configure the form.

    2. HubSpot - Select and enter Portal Id & Form Id > click Apply, to embed HubSpot form.

    3. Pardot - Select and click Apply, to embed Pardot form.

To insert merge fields for personalized text:

  1. Click on the Text area, and you will see the Insert Merge Field combo box at the top right corner. 

  2. Enter the greeting. For, e.g., ‘Hi’ and then insert ${First Name}. It will automatically replace the recipient’s details.

  1. You also have the option to add multiple videos into a slider below:

    1. Click on the Add Slider Videos & Documents button and select a video from the Library that pops-up.

    2. The green tick indicates the video selection. 

  2. Once you’ve done, click on the Save

  3. You will be redirected to a page where you can name your page, set its privacy and thumbnail, and add a personalized Fav Icon.

  1. Click on Save and Next. Your sales page is now ready to be shared.

  2. Now, choose the template and add/import contacts.

  3. Enter a catchy subject line.

  1. Click on Send.
