Importance of merge fields inside the sales page templates:
Are you creating multiple sales page templates for each rep? If yes, then forget about it. With HV, you can create one sales page template for your entire team and all your team members i.e. reps can choose that sales page template as a template for the all the videos they are sending out. It automatically extracts information based on the merge fields added on the sales page templates.
To set a merge field for the sales page templates:
Log-in to Hippo Video with your existing credentials.
Click on the Settings icon from the left navbar and then click on Profile Settings or Initial icon (left bottom) > Profile Settings.
You'll notice that some information is pre-populated based on the information you provided when creating your account, but you can change it at any time.
Enter information such as Facebook Profile, Calendar Link, Twitter, and Linkedin.
Note: You will notice that all the above-marked (merge) fields replace on the sales page. In case the fields are empty, then the sales page template will be sent with the admin-created details by default.
Once you’re done, click on Save at the top right corner.
To navigate to the sales page templates:
Click on the HV Studio icon from the left navigation bar > Sales Page Templates.
You’ll be redirected to the All Templates tab under the Sales Page Templates screen.

To choose the sales page template:
Go to any one of the tabs on the left panel. Here, for example, select the Prospecting tab and click on the Add More button at the top right.
The Add Greetings Video From Library slider will appear with various templates.
Hover the mouse over the template of your choice. Let’s select Pitch Wireframe template.
You can either Preview your template.
Or click on Use button. All the elements that are available on the preview page are customizable but the primary video cannot be added during the creation of the sales page. It can only be added when you share them with your prospects. Based on the branding permissions, the user will be able to edit the branding settings.

Here, you can edit the title, format text, insert an image, change the background color, insert merge fields, and add a carousel.
To insert merge fields for social media:
Click on the social media icons, i.e., Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin, and insert merge fields. Here, e.g., the Facebook icon is selected.
You will notice the Link Type drop-down enabled with the two options:
Use personal link - If you select this option, the field values will be replaced based on your profile settings accordingly.
Enter new link - You can also enter the URL, e.g., your company Facebook link.
Insert Merge fields combo-box
The Insert Merge Field combo box has three tabs:
Contacts - Select this to personalize your recipient’s details.
Users - Select this to personalize your account user’s details, i.e., sales reps details (it fetches details from the Profile Settings).
Videos - Select this to replace your primary video’s title and description (provided during the video creation), i.e. personalize the details of your videos.
To insert merge fields for contact details:
Click on the top right-hand corner and you will see an Insert Merge Field combo-box at the top right corner.
Now, click on Users:
${First Name} - Replaces the recipient’s first name.
${Company Name} - Replaces the recipient’s company name.
${Video URL} - Replaces the recipient’s video URL.
${Email} - Replaces the recipient’s email.
${Last Name} - Replaces the recipient’s last name.
${Country} - Replaces the recipient’s country.
${City} - Replaces the recipient’s city.
${Phone Number} - Replaces the recipient’s city.
${Title} - Replaces the recipient’s video title.
${State} - Replaces the recipient’s state.
${Address} - Replaces the recipient’s address.
To insert merge fields for user details:
Click on the top right-hand corner and you will see an Insert Merge Field combo-box at the top right corner.
Now, click on Users:
${User.First Name} - Replaces the user name.
${User.Email} - Replaces the user email.
To insert merge fields for title and description:
Click on the title, and you will see an Insert Merge Field combo-box at the top right corner.
Now, click on Videos:
${Video.Title} - Replaces the primary video title.
${Video.Description} - Replaces the primary video description.
To insert merge fields for buttons:
Click on Add Button, and you will notice the button features at the top of the screen.

Link - Select the Button Type as Link, and you will notice the options at the top.
Enter the button name in the Button Text field.
You also have the option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate options.
Enter the URL in the Button URL field.
Chat - Select the Button Type as Chat, and you will notice the options at the top.
Enter the button name in the Button Text field.
You also have the option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate options.
From the Chat drop-down list:
Drift - Select to integrate Drift chatbot.
Freshchat - Select to integrate Freshchat chatbot.
Intercom - Select to integrate Intercom chatbot.
HubSpot - Select to integrate HubSpot chatbot.
Zoho SalesIQ - Select to integrate Zoho SalesIQ chatbot.
Note: Select the chat and set the configuration, accordingly.
Email - Select the Button Type as Email, and you will notice the merge field options at the top.
Enter the button name in the Button Text field.
You also have the option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate radio options.
From the Email Id drop-down list:
Customize - Select to enter the email id.
Personal email - Select to replace the entered field values based on your profile settings accordingly.
Call - Select the Button Type as Call, and you will notice the merge field options at the top.
Enter the button name in the Button Text field.
You also have the option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate radio buttons.
From the Call drop-down list:
Customize - Select to enter the phone number.
Personal number - Select to replace the entered field values based on your profile settings accordingly.
Get Video Reply - Select the Button Type as Get Video Reply, and you will notice the Button Text field option at the top.
Enter the button name in the Button Text field.
You also have the option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate options.
Schedule a Meeting - Select the Button Type as Schedule a Meeting, and you will notice the merge field options at the top.
Enter the button name in the Button Text field.
You also have the option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate options.
From the Scheduling App drop-down list:
Calendly - Select to enter the calendly link.
Hubspot - Select to enter the hubspot link.
Personal Link - Select to replace the entered field values based on your profile settings accordingly.
Form - Select the Button Type as Form, and you will notice the merge field option at the top.
Enter the button name in the Button Text field.
You also have the option to change the button text color and background color by clicking on the appropriate radio buttons.
From the Form used drop-down list:
Default > click Form Configuration - Select and update the details, to configure the form.
HubSpot - Select and enter Portal Id & Form Id > click Apply, to embed the HubSpot form.
Pardot - Select and click Apply, to embed the Pardot form.

To insert merge fields for personalized text:
Click on the Text area, and you will see the Insert Merge Field combo box at the top right corner.
Enter the greeting. For, e.g., ‘Hi’ and then insert ${First Name}. It will automatically replace the recipient’s details.
You also have the option to add multiple videos into a carousel below:
Click on the Add Links, Videos, Images & Documents button and select the appropriate assets from pop-up.
The green tick indicates the video selection.
Once you’ve done this, click on Save.
You’ll be redirected to the sales page template settings page.
Fill in the fields required such as,
Sales page template name - Name your sales page template.
Page URL - Gets updated based on the sales page name. If necessary, you can change it.
Video Flow Settings - If you want to allow users to edit the non-branding settings of the sales page template during video flows, check the box, or to restrict users from editing non-branding settings of the sales page template within video flows, uncheck the box.
Visibility - Select users or groups or everyone in the organization.
Share with everyone in the organization - If you want to share the sales page templates with everyone in the organization, check the box else uncheck the box.
Tags - By default, the System Tags will be mapped to the sales page templates. If you want you can add more tags and remove the existing tags but it is mandatory to have at least one tag to save the page.
Fav Icon - This icon will show up on the browser. You can at any point in time, if necessary.
Thumbnail - The thumbnail will be automatically loaded. You can change it if you want.
Note: The recommended thumbnail dimension for the entire page is ‘320*180’. However, depending on the device, this may or may not work.
Click on ‘Save and Next’.
You shall be redirected to the Sales Page Templates preview page.
Note: The Preview Page button at the top right of the preview lets you to see the sales page template preview and click on the respective icons below the preview to clone, delete, or edit the sales page template, if necessary.
Your sales page template is now ready to be used while sharing the video with your prospects.
