Show video duration on video thumbnail

With Hippo Video, you can now show video duration on the thumbnails. By setting the video duration time, you can expect to increase the click-through rates on your videos. 

Note: By default, it's set as a global setting and any changes or modifications here can affect the entire account. At any point in time, the admin can make changes inside settings and the changes will reflect in all newly created videos.

Let’s see how to show video duration on the thumbnail,

To view video duration settings:

  1. Click on the More icon from the left navigation bar and then click on Settings Video Settings or click on the Settings icon from the left navigation bar > Video Settings. Scroll down to see the Settings to show video duration on the thumbnail option at the bottom of the page.

  1. If necessary, you can change the settings  on the thumbnail using the below options:

    1. Do not show video time on the thumbnail - This is set by default. Selecting this will not show video time on the thumbnail.

    2. Show video time if it is below 2 min - Selecting this will show playtime on the thumbnail if the video is below 2 minutes.

    3. Show video time if it is below 5 min - Selecting this will show playtime on the thumbnail if the video is below 5 minutes.

    4. Set your video duration (below) - Selecting this you can enter the video duration. 

  2. Once done, click Save on the top right.

Here is an example of how the video duration time looks inside Gmail Integration:

  1. Click on the Assets icon from the left navigation bar and then click All Assets.

  2. Open the video you wish to send. Below the video preview page, click the Copy Link button.

  1. Now, click the Copy Link with Thumbnail button.

  1. Then, open the Gmail in the new tab.

  2. Click Compose icon on the top left.

  3. Paste the copied link inside Compose Window.

  1. Click Send. Below is an example of the email received by the end-user.


Here is an example of how the video duration time looks for Send Email:

  1. Click on the Assets icon from the left navigation bar and then click on the All Assets.

  2. Open the video you wish to send.

  3. Below the video preview, click on the Thumbnail icon.

  1. Select the frame (Default Frame or GIF Preview or Upload a frame or Choose a frame from video) and exit.

  1. Then, click on Send Mail.

  1. Add or Import contacts; Subject line, Email template, and click Send.


Here is an example of how the video duration time looks for Sending campaigns through various platforms:

  1. Click on the Assets icon from the left navigation bar and then click on the All Assets.

  2. Open the video you wish to send.

  3. Below the video preview, click on the Video Thumbnail icon.

  1. Select the frame (Default Frame or GIF Preview or Upload a frame or Choose a frame from video) and exit.

  1. Then, click on Share/Embed Code icon. 

  1. Copy code and paste it into your favorite tool.
