Create folders to organize your videos

With Hippo Video, you can now create multiple folders and tags to organize your videos. All your recorded videos can be saved under different folders and you can also tag them for easy access.


To create a folder and set permissions:

  1. Log-in to  Hippo Video with your existing credentials.

  2. Click on the Assets icon from the left navbar and then select Create Folder at the top right.

  1. Enter a Folder Name.

  1. From the Visibility option: 

  • Select the users and groups from the search field. By default, the selected users and groups will be given Viewer access. 
Note: The users can share the videos embedded in a sales page for which they have a minimum of View permission.
  • Set access as Viewer/Editor for the selected users or groups.
  • Select Remove Access option to keep the page private if you prefer. 
Note:  The same user will have access to Viewer and Editor. So, in that case, they will have permissions based on the hierarchy, i.e. Between Viewer and Editor, the Editor has the highest permission.
  • In order to share the folder with others in the organization, check the Share with everyone in the organization box. The Everyone in the Organization option will get listed below the Shared with box. You can select the access accordingly.
  1. Click on Change thumbnail to change the default thumbnail and select your preferred thumbnail from your local drive.

  1. Once you’ve selected, click Save.

Note:  The Remove Thumbnail option allows to modify the thumbnail at any point in time.
  1. The new folder will be created successfully. 


Note: 
  • Videos that aren’t added inside any folder will be automatically saved to the folder which is available in your ‘Name’.

  • You can create unlimited folders.


To add multiple folders for the existing videos: 

  1. Go to the specific folder and open the video.

  1. On the right side of the video preview, click on the Plus icon near Folder.

  1. Click on the appropriate folders from the list upon which the selected folders will be added to the specific video. 

  2. Now, the specific video will get listed under all the selected folders.

  1. If you do not want the video get listed under the specific folder then click on the Close icon near the folder.


To add multiple folders for the imported videos:

  1. Open the specific folder in which you want the video to save and click on Import Video.

  1. Select the folder from your local drive/G-drive.

  1. As soon as you import, you can enter the folder name to decide which folder you want to put the video in. 

  2. Choose tags to make your video get searched easily by entering the tag in the search bar.

  3. Once you’re done, click Import.

  1. The selected video is imported into all the chosen folder.


To manage folders:

  1. Hover the mouse over the respective folder and click on the More icon to see various options to manage folders.

  1. The Pin Folder option helps you pin the folders so that you can access them easily and pin upto 5 folders.

  1. The Delete Folder helps you to delete folders as you wish.

  2. You can also set any folder as default by clicking on Set as Default. Whenever you record or import a video, the video will be set in this folder as default.

  3. A folder will be created for every user on account creation and set as default.
