With Hippo Video’s Virtual background feature, you can now use an image and video as a virtual background for your videos. It can be any animation, background videos, or images you want to use as virtual background. You can also use your webpage screenshot as the virtual background to add value to your brand.
Now, let’s see how to apply virtual background for the new and existing videos,
To add a virtual background for a new video:
Log in to Hippo Video with your existing credentials.
Click on + Create button from the top right > Camera Only.
Click on the red Circle button to start with your recording.
Once the recording is complete, click on the red Square button.
By default, your video will be saved in the Library.
Click on the Virtual Background icon below the video preview.
The Add Virtual Background slider will open up.
The Default (None) tab allows you to reset your background.
The Add Background tab allows you to add background either from your local drive or G-drive.
The LinkedIn Background tab allows you to add a LinkedIn screenshot as your background.
The Website Background tab allows you to add a Website screenshot as your background.
Select the Virtual Background folder from the Select Folder option.
The Select Folder lets you select the folders of your choice to choose the background.
The Tags field allows you to filter the videos and images by tags.
The Show Content Type option allows you to filter only the images, videos, or both by clicking on the text link.
If you select an image or video, you’ll see the preview of the same at the top.
To add videos as a virtual background for your videos:
Select the content type as Videos+.
Select the video of your choice and click Apply.
Once you’ve done this, click on Apply at the bottom. It may take a few seconds to render and process the video with the selected virtual background.
Note: Your virtual background selection will be discarded by clicking on the Cancel button. However, you can always choose the video from your Library to apply a virtual background later.
You’ll notice that the selected background is applied to your video, as shown in the below example.
To add videos as a virtual background for your videos:
Select the content type as Images+.
Select the image of your choice and click Apply.
Once you’ve done this, click on Apply at the bottom. It may take a few seconds to render and process the video with the selected virtual background.
Note: Your virtual background selection will be discarded by clicking on the Cancel button. However, you can always choose a video from your Library to apply a virtual background later.
You’ll notice that the selected background is applied to your video, as shown in the below example.
To add a LinkedIn screenshot as a virtual background for your videos:
Click on the LinkedIn Background tab.
Enter the User URL and click Verify Link button.
Now select the Window tab, choose the LinkedIn profile window, and click Share. You will now see a preview.
Click Apply to add the LinkedIn screenshot as a virtual background for your video; click Reset to change the screenshot anytime before you apply.
Once you’ve done, click Apply.
You’ll notice that the LinkedIn screenshot is added as a virtual background for your video. Now click Apply.
To add a website screenshot as a virtual background for your videos:
Click on the Website Background tab.
Enter your valid website URL in the field and click the Verify link button.
It may take a few seconds to validate the URL.
If the URL does not match, you will be prompted with the error message; otherwise, you will see the website screenshot preview.
Click Apply.
Enter the title and other information.
Click Import.
The chosen website screenshot will be saved inside your library.
Once you’ve done this, click on Apply at the bottom. It may take a few seconds to render and process the video with the selected virtual background.
Note: Your virtual background selection will be discarded by clicking on the Cancel button. However, you can always choose a video from your Library to apply a virtual background later.
You’ll notice that the selected background is applied to your video, as shown in the below example.
To add a virtual background for an existing video:
Click on the Assets icon from the left navigation bar > All Assets.
Open the video you wish to add a virtual background.
On the Video Preview page, click on the Virtual Background icon below the video preview upon which the Add Virtual Background slider will appear.
Then, select your preferred background and click on Apply.
It may take a few seconds to analyze and apply the virtual background for the selected video.
The selected background will be applied to the video.
