There are 2 types of integrations that can be enabled:

  • Type 1 - Without using Hippo Video chrome extension
    This allows you to publish videos to Slack from Hippo Video.


  • Type 2 - Using the Hippo Video chrome extension

This allows you to record and share videos directly from Slack.


Requirements:

  1. Hippo Video Account - ‘Pro’ plan or above. Sign-up here.

Type 1 - Integrating Slack with Hippo Video (Without using Chrome Extension)

  1. Log-in to Hippo Video using your existing credentials. 

  2. Click on the ‘More’ icon and select ‘Settings’. Click on ‘Integrations’ listed below.

  1. You shall find Slack listed under the ‘Team Communication’ tab. Click on the ‘Integrate’ button displayed against it. 

  1. Enter your Slack credentials and hit ‘Sign in’.

  2. Click on ‘Allow’ to authorize Hippo Video to access the Slack workplace. 

  3. You will receive a notification confirming that your account has been successfully added.

  4. Hit the refresh button on your Hippo Video integrations page to find your Slack integration status has been updated. 



Type 2 - Installing Hippo Video Chrome extension

To use the Hippo Video quick record widget within Slack, the Hippo Video Chrome Extension needs to be installed. Follow the steps given below:

  1. Go to the Chrome Web Store by clicking on ‘Apps’ on the top left corner of your chrome browser.

  2. Search for ‘Hippo Video’ under ‘Extensions’ in the search tool placed on the left. 

  3. You will see ‘Hippo Video : Screen recorder & Video Editor’ listed on the right. Click on ‘Add to Chrome’ to install Hippo Video chrome extension.

  1. Click on ‘Add extension’ in the pop-up box. 

  2. You will notice “Hippo Video’ icon getting added in your browser once the installation is complete. 

   

  1. Navigate to a new tab and log-in to Hippo Video using your existing credentials or create a new one by signing -up.

  2. Click on the ‘More’ icon and select ‘Settings’. Click on ‘Integrations’ listed below.

  3. Switch the toggle state to ‘On’, next to Slack to enable integration.
