To send 1:1 video emails from the LinkedIn Sales Navigator:

  1. Log-in to LinkedIn using your credentials.

  2. Click on Messaging from the top navigation bar and then click My Sales Navigator inbox from the left side of the screen.

  3. Enter your message.

  4. Now, click on the orange Hippo Video icon at the bottom of your LinkedIn Sales Navigator inbox.

  1. You will see a pop-up window with two options - ‘Record with screen-recording’ or ‘Choose from library’.

Note:  Webcam Mic are selected by default. To capture your screen while recording the message, select Screen. Otherwise, you can leave it unchecked and proceed to the next step.

  1. To record a new video:


Note: The Enable Teleprompter feature within Hippo Video will prompt you scripts on the screen and lets you talk without the need to check your notes.

  1. Before recording, if you have any lengthy scripts then enable the teleprompter by following the below steps else skip to Step f:

    1. Click on Enable Teleprompter.

    1. Now, you can either select from the list or create a new one.

    2. In case, if you want to add a new script then click on the Add New Script at the top of the video.

    3. In the new tab, fill in the details, and click on Save.

    4. Navigate back to your recording tab and click Refresh  near the Add New Script link.

Note: You have the options to modify the text size, line space, and even the speed of the teleprompter before the recording begins.

    1. Now, click on Start Recording to record your message.

    2. Once the recording is complete, click on Finish Recording.

  1. To personalize your video:

    1. Select the text New Recording above the video to change the default video name to a name of your choice.

    2. Click on Edit Video, to trim out any awkward pauses at the beginning or end of the video by clicking on the Scissor icon.

    1. You can also crop, add emojis or callouts, blur out parts of the screen or resize your video.

    2. Click on the T icon to add text.

    1. Use the orange seek bar at the bottom to enter Start Time and End Time for the text and click Save. It determines the duration and position of the text in the video.

    2. Once you have completed editing, your video is now ready to be shared.        

    3. If you wish to send out your video via a landing page, click the ‘Landing Page’ tab on the top right corner to select a landing page template to embed.         


    1. Thenclick on the ‘Thumbnail’ tab on the top right corner to choose a thumbnail for the video.    

Here’s a Pro Tip: It is recommended to choose an animated GIF thumbnail over a static one.

    1. Once you’re done, click on the Insert Video.

    1. The First Name field will be populated based on the contact selection.

    2. Now, click on Insert Video to finish upYour video gets pasted as a link. 

    3. Click on Send. The recipient would receive a link. 


  • If you are sending a message from LinkedIn and the receiver is also viewing it in LinkedIn, then they will receive a video thumbnail.

  • If you are sending a message from Sales Navigator and the receiver is also viewing it in Sales Navigator, then they will receive only the link.

  • If you are sending a message from Sales Navigator and the receiver is viewing it in LinkedIn, then they will receive a link along with a video thumbnail.

  • If you are sending a message from Sales Navigator via ‘Inmail’, then the receiver viewing it in Sales Navigator or LinkedIn will receive only the link.
