Hippo Video now provides you with a dominant feature to collaborate with your video users and viewers through comments. Comments help you and your viewers to respond to the videos quickly. You can improve your video success rate through continuous engagement with your audience. And, through comments, you will be able to know your viewer’s likes and dislikes.

Don’t worry!! Your viewers needn’t have to sign up for Hippo Video to comment. We allow guest comments. So, anyone who can view your video will be able to comment.

Use cases:

  • Comments for your videos will be available along with the video preview below video information where you can have access to all the comments for that particular video. 

  • Both you and your viewers have an option to add comments at a specific time. For instance, if your viewer liked a particular clip in your video, he/she can tap on the video timeline or the buffer bar at the point of time they’d like to comment.

To enable/disable the comment feature to your video:

Note: Admin or the video owner will be able to hide/unhide specific comments from being displayed to others.

  1. Sign-up here if you are a new user or go to Videos and Documents and select the video you wish to add a comment on.

  2. Click on the Video Settings from the center pane.

  1. Then, click on Settings. 
    Note: By default, the comments feature will be enabled for all your videos to allow your viewers to comment.

  1. Tap on the toggle switch near Allow Comments to disable the comments feature for the selected video

To add a comment to your video:

  1. Select the video you wish to add a comment on.

  2. Click on the Video Info from the center pane > Comments tab.

  1. Enter your comment in the description box and click Post. Your comment is posted successfully. The comment will be shown to the viewers whenever they play the video. 

How can your viewers comment?

  1. Click on Add New Comment on the right side of the video.

  2. And, type their comment in the space provided.

  3. To comment on the video at a specific time, your viewers can hover over the video buffer bar and select ADD COMMENT at the point of time they’d like to comment.

  4. Once done, your viewers can click on the button.
