Send hundreds of emails all at once with Hippo Video. Yes, with Hippo Video. Not only does it create, edit, host, share videos but also send bulk emails taking the data from a spreadsheet.


  • Hippo Video Account. Sign-up here if you are a new user. 

  • Hippo Video Chrome extension. Click on this link to install.

  • Spreadsheet with Recipient’s details.

To send video campaigns from Gmail:

  1. Log-in to Gmail using your credentials.

  2. Click on the Compose from the left-side panel and and you will see a New Message pop-up on the right bottom.

  1. Click on the Send Video Campaign icon at the bottom.

  2. You will see a pop-up with four options - Video Library or Personalized Videos or Landing Pages or Record Video.

    1. Video Library tab - Lists all the existing videos from the Hippo Video library

    2. Personalized Videos tab - Lists all the existing personalized videos from the Hippo Video library.

    3. Landing Pages tab - Lists all the existing landing pages from the Hippo Video library.

    4. Record Video button - Helps to record a video. 

  3. To record a video:

    1. Click on the Record Video button

    2. You will see a pop-up with two options - Record with screen-recording or Choose from library.

      1. Click on Record with Screen Recording from the right side of the video, to enable the screen recording. 

Note: You will notice Webcam Mic are selected by default. To capture your screen while recording the message, select Screen. Otherwise, you can leave it unchecked and proceed to the next step.

  1. Click on Choose from Library from the right side of the video, to choose an existing video from the Hippo Video library. 

Note: The Enable Teleprompter feature within Hippo Video will prompt your scripts on the screen and lets you talk without the need to check your notes.

  1. Before recording, if you have any lengthy scripts then enable the teleprompter by following the below steps else skip to Step f:

    1. Click on Enable Teleprompter

  1. You can either choose an existing script or add a new one.

  2. In case, if you want to add a new script then click on the Add New Script at the top of the video.

  3. In the new tab, fill in the details, and hit Save.

  4. Navigate back to your recording tab and click Refresh  near the Add New Script button.

Note: You can modify the text size, line space, and speed of the teleprompter before the recording begins.

  1. Choose your new script and click on Start Recording.

  1. Once the recording is complete, click on Finish Recording.

  2. To personalize your video:

  1. Select the text New Recording above the video to change the default video name to a name of your choice.

  2. Click on Edit Video and you can crop, add emojis or callouts, blur out parts of the screen or resize your video.

  1. Click on the T icon to add text.

  2. You can also insert merge fields such as First Name, Email, etc.

  1. Use the orange seek bar at the bottom to enter Start Time and End Time for the text and click Save. It determines the duration and position of the text in the video.

  1. Once you have completed editing, your video is now ready to be shared.        

  2. If you wish to send out your video via a landing page, click the ‘Landing Page’ tab on the top right corner to select a landing page template to embed.         

Here’s a Pro Tip: You can create one sales page for multiple videos and the entire team can use it while sending videos. The Merge fields will be auto-replaced by sender & prospect information eg: First Name, Company name, etc.


  1. Thenclick on the ‘Thumbnail’ tab on the top right corner to choose a thumbnail for the video.    

Here’s a Pro Tip: It is recommended to choose an animated GIF thumbnail over a static one.

  1. Click on Continue

  1. Here, select the Mail Templates and then click on Continue.

  2. To add contacts, click on Import Contacts (contacts will be imported from the spreadsheet) or Add Contacts (add a contact manually).

  3. Click on Add Contacts and enter the contact details.

  1. Once you’re done, click on the Insert Video

  2. You will notice the video gets pasted as a thumbnail inside the compose mailbox.

Note: The Edit icon below the thumbnail will redirect you to the Edit Video screen and the Delete icon helps to delete the video (optional).

  1. Enter the prospect’s email and choose the template or enter the message below. 

  2. You also have an option to edit/delete the video below the inserted video.

  3. Now, click on the Send via Hippo Video. You have successfully sent a video email to your prospect from Gmail.

  4. To send a video reply:

    1. Open the email and then click on the Reply button at the bottom.

    2. You will notice the Hippo Video icon in Reply message at the bottom.

  1. Click on the Send 1:1 Video icon and then Start recording the video or Record with screen-recording or Choose from library.

  2. Now, click on the Send. You have successfully sent a video reply to your prospect from Gmail.

  1. To track your videos:

Apart from the convenience to record and send videos, You can also track your videos using Hippo Video real-time analytics within your Gmail account. 

  1. Navigate to the Notification icon available on the right-hand corner to see how your video emails are performing.

  1. Navigate to the Email icon available on the right-hand corner to see the total count of your video emails are sent, opened, and watched rate.

  1. Navigate to the Campaign Reports icon available on the right-hand corner to see how your video emails sent and their corresponding actions.
